The second son of Carlos Ramirez-Fuentes and Angela Vargas-Sanchez, Eric led a modest yet comfortable life on the west side of town with his family in their apartment. Though bullied in school for his ethnicity and poor economic status, Eric enjoyed his studies, taking a particular liking to math. When the apartment building was attacked, leaving his parents dead and his brother mortally wounded, Eric took to the streets in a panic, where he met his future best friend, Tom. With Tom’s help, Eric’s brother was given a second chance at life, but Eric still despaired over his parents’ death. The tragic incident would lead to Eric being pulled from school, and gaining Tom’s undying friendship. Inspired by stories from his parents, and pushed forward by Tom’s support, Eric decided his ultimate life goal would be to leave behind the city he grew up in and see the world.

Eric sees himself as a sort of stud, and as such, is a shameless flirt when it comes to women. He is often rejected despite his confidence. He resents being insulted for his height. Eric is very passionate about math, and taught himself how to code. He is mystified by magic, even having learned a few parlor tricks. Despite being a bit out of shape, Eric is rather quick on his feet, a skill that extends to his talent with a knife.

The knife he uses in his mercenary work was a gift from his old gang leader, Mickey, who taught him just how to get the most out of the weapon. Eric prefers using a knife in a fight for its sheer speed, lethality, and personal touch.

Due to the circumstances of the attack on the apartment which resulted in his parents’ death, Eric has an acute fear of firearms, and will refuse to use them, even freezing up in their presence.

Eric holds Tom in the highest regard as his best friend, being willing to do just about anything for him. Eric views Tom as a sort of second brother, being especially playful with him, as well as affectionate, even more so than he exhibits with his own blood brother. Where Eric might not hug Leon or even give him a playful punch on the shoulder, he will do so with Tom, and rather frequently. Should harm ever come to Tom, Eric goes into a sort of panic, dropping everything to make sure his friend is taken care of. Aside from himself, Tom is his number one concern.

Eric loves Leon to death, especially since his brother took on essentially the role of father to both him and Tom, but whatever respect he has is often overshadowed by his brotherly desire to make fun of Leon. Eric just can’t resist messing with his brother, particularly teasing him about his self-proclaimed “professional relationship” with Bianca. Jokes aside, Eric secretly fears Leon due to his strength and werewolf curse, afraid that one day he’ll snap and kill him and Tom.
